Kung Fu Panda 2 : The Kaboom of Doom

Kung Fu Panda 2 : The Kaboom of Doom is an upcoming animated film and the sequel to the 2008 film, Kung Fu Panda. It is set to be in 3-D and will be directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, with most of the original cast returning, along with some new characters. The film is set to be released on May 26, 2011 and was originally going to be named Kung Fu Panda 2: Pandamonium.

Jack Black, the voice of Po the Panda, announced a Kung Fu Panda sequel during the 2009 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards. The rest of first films cast, including Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and James Hong, are all set to reprise their roles. New cast members include Victor Garber, Michelle Yeoh, Gary Oldman, James Woods and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Po (Jack Black) is now living his dream as The Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five – Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Crane (David Cross), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Monkey (Jackie Chan). But Po's new life is threatened by the emergence of a formidable villain, who plans to use a secret, unstoppable weapon to conquer China and destroy kung fu. It is up to Po and The Furious Five to journey across China to face this threat and vanquish it. But how can Po stop a weapon that can stop kung fu? He must look to his past and uncover the secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he be able to unlock the strength he needs to succeed.
